The Centennial State may finally be relaxing its stance on online gambling. Online sports betting made its debut in Colorado during May 2020. So far, this is the only type of mobile or online gambling that is allowed in Colorado.
Many feel that this could soon change. Online sports betting was approved by state voters in 2019, and this could encourage more legislation in favor of online casinos and online poker. For the time being, however, Colorado residents will just have to be happy with online sports betting.
Proposition DD allows anyone over the age of 21 to make sports bets online or at retail sportsbooks located within the state. Those betting online must be located within the state's borders to legally play. A measure to permit online poker was introduced in 2013, but there was not enough support to merit a vote. This subject could come up again in future legislative sessions.
Daily fantasy sports are also allowed in Colorado for real money. These can be played with a mobile app.
